Joel on Keeping Developers Happy
How do you hire good software developers and actually keep them? Joel Spolsky offers a few ideas, in his article “A Field Guide to Developers”. Joel’s ideas include treating developers like stars instead of dirt. Sadly most places I’ve seen treat their programmers like dirt and think that when their staff quit it is a purely financial decision. Anyway, go have a read.
